David Hockney was born on July 9, 1937 in Bradford, United Kingdom. David currently lives in Kensington, London and has two other residencies in California. David often visits both frequently and has done so over the past 30 years. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and has created art work that supported homosexuality before it was widely accepted in the 1960's, along with many other varieties of artwork. The artwork we created emulates his style as it is inspired by his famous collages that he creates from using many polaroids.
When I captured these images I really wanted a model to be in them to really create the illusion but also have a focused subject so other then it being objects the model would be what grabs the persons attention. What I did as make layers upon layers and I cropped images and made them go with the image also I changed the color on some images to give them a more cool vibe. I also messed around with the brightness and changed the images by size. I chose complex magazine because it's a street based magazine and focuses on music that is around the younger audience. I made the whole magazine a black and white based magazine because of the logo in complex it's usually black and white. I used Aerial black and I made the whole letters and magazine black and white and I just liked the set up of it and the way the whole magazine came up as. My setup to create my magazine was to find pictures off the internet that are transparent and to really introduce street related artist and news. Strobe A strobe light is a powerful flash that is synced to the camera so that it strobes when the shutter is released. You would use it to provide strong studio lighting, and it would be paired with other sources of light. A modeling light is a secondary light source in a studio shoot that allows for a balance in lighting to eliminate shadows and create even exposure. It would be used with a strobe light, generally placed on the opposite side of the subject in order to balance the light. A soft box is a cover placed over a strobe light and guide the light. It is used to channel the light from the strobe and soften it so that the resulting light is diffused cleanly. It also directs the light straight to the subject. A reflector is a flat panel of varying shapes and sizes, but usually circular. They can be either white, silvery, or gold. They are used to reflect light from the light source in order to eliminate shadows or create even and balanced lighting. A grey card is a physical panel with a white, gray, and black strip that is held by the subject in test photos. It is used to allow the photographer to find the perfect exposure so that the gray on the photograph perfectly matches the gray on the real panel. A radio trigger system is a system of transmitters that are attached to the camera and any light sources, especially strobe lights. It is used to allow for wireless connectivity between the camera and light sources so that the flash from the lights is synced to the shutter release in the camera, and it allows the photographer to be more mobile due to the lack of a cord.Rodrigo Zamora
May 2, 2017 Rancho Buena Vista High School Mrs. Moncure White and pink mix well This picture was taken in Vista California in front of my home on a very sunny day around I’d say 2:56. My image is based on the compositional rule of crop and the reason for it is because of how close up the image is and how focused it is on one single object. I used my iphone 7 plus im not so sure on the specs the camera has all I know it’s a really good camera for a smart phone. I Used photoshop to resize the photo to 11 by 14 and then changed the brightness a tad lower. I believe my photo is a self portrait because of how focused it’s on the rose also I believe it shows simplicity and beauty. It was printed on a “Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer.” |
